Sikhs Contribution in Ongoing Farmers Protests

Heaps of Indian farmers protesting against the three farms regulation. The Sikh diaspora has begun to help Indian farmers collect donations, organize demonstrations and publish news updates.

Overseas Sikhs, many of whom have family farms, have been interviewed in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia to show they are gaining attention outside the Indian embassy. Protesters and their families said that in nearly 50 different cities around 400 to 600 people protest in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.


In Canada, which is the home to a politically powerful Sikh community, Indians have pledged to step up their support for protesting Indian farmers. We regularly take part in demonstrations and try to grab the attention of the authorities. They help strengthen our voice, and we are committed to supporting our farmers in India. A UK-based international Sikh Charity "Khalsa Aid'' joined many volunteer groups and individuals in showing solidarity with the thousands of protesting farmers in Delhi. The march crossed Punjab and Haryana, where Khalsa Aid volunteers provided free langar service in various locations. Along with the Khalsa Aid, the Kisan Mazdur Sangarsh committee delivers most of the tractors filled with foodstuff.

In the Sikh diaspora, many public figures have expressed their support for the protest against the farmers, but in India, many public figures from Punjab have returned and rejected the honor given by the country. From California to London to Vancouver and Melbourne,

Sikh communities worldwide have come together in the Covid-19 Safe Car Rally to express their solidarity with farmers in India.

The protesters showed no signs of withdrawing the protest. Diaspora protests have continued almost every week, and the UK Sikh student is raising funds for the Kheti Virasat and Sahaita Mission. This charity supports Sikh protests and sustainable farming practices.

Sikhs are actively shaping and intensifying protests. Portraits of the Sikh religion (orange, Kanda symbol) feature prominently in demonstrations in the Indian and overseas diaspora and mobile (Sikh) Gurudwara to empower protesters. A spiritual house has been erected on the site of the rally. However, the current analysis ignores the role of the Sikh diaspora in supporting protests in India and abroad.
